WINTER STORM PREPARATIONS
This City of Cave City has prepared as best we can for forecasts of up to 12”+ of snow beginning Friday evening, 01/23/2026. We urge area residents to take all precautions you can during this time to minimize the risk to yourself and your property. Below is a summary list of things we suggest you do to try and prevent damage to water pipes in your homes and businesses. There are more resources online with precautions you may want to take.
Our team is prepared to apply salt to key roads and intersections, and the state highway department has pre-treated sections of our roads that are under their jurisdiction and care, but these are only mediating steps. The most helpful thing we can ask of everyone is to please avoid being on the roads unless it is absolutely necessary. This will allow us to remain focused on keeping essential services up and running during this time. I’m thankful to our team for the work already done, and the work they will undoubtedly do to keep our community as safe and secure as possible.
