Mayor Jonas Anderson has announced the purchase of a historic mercantile building in downtown Cave City that will be transformed into a new pocket park public space. The Sharp County Detention Center team has already cleared tons of debris from the collapsed roof, and future upgrades will be forthcoming. Red paint has also been blasted away to reveal the original sandstone facade, which is being preserved and incorporated into the space.

When complete, the spot will feature seating, planter boxes, artwork, a stage area, and more fi the public to enjoy. Stay tuned!
